Personality Assessment
Personality Assessments in general asks a series of questions that reflect on the actions one does in everyday life. For instance, some questions will ask how accurate a statement like "I am a brainiac" or "I like order" is in describing who you are. After this series of questions, in an almost point system manner it will tally up what attributes you likely have. I believe these tests can be important because the results not only show the good side of your personality but the bad side of the personality.
I chose to do the big 5 personality test which tests on the personality traits of conscientiousness, openness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. These traits are broad terms that tend to be really complex. I scored at least 48% all of these. Now I have taken the big 5 before in High School and who I am now and who I was then are not different people but some of my personality traits have differed. I believe this has to do in part to growing up and having experiences that are beginning to shape and mold who I am. A clear example would be in the accommodation aspect of my personality, I used to do so many things for people I didn't even have time to stop and realize that all the help I was doing was actually hindering me. Not only does the test show the difference but so does how I act in everyday life.
The change in the test results over these couple of years has lead me to believe that this test has to be accurate. comparing the two shows how I have improved myself as well as being able to see funny quirks in myself that I've never really realized. Like the orderliness aspect of me says at times I'm overly organized and i can't tell you how true this is. Like my Tackle box for fishing is completely organized down to the tee. To tell the truth i don't even have a good fun day of fishing if i can't have my stuff right when i need it. Another thing on my inquisitiveness it says I can "not very practical" which can also be true because I love to test out new ideas. Sometimes these can be for the better but about 99.9% of the time it doesn't make sense and my failure is the only way for me to realize this.
