About My Interest in Psychology

     Sports Psychology is a proficiency that uses physiological knowledge and skills to address optimal performance and well being in athletes. This is an branch of this science in my opinion due to the fact that there has been people on my current and past teams that always seem to not maximize there potential due to something that's going on in their head. Continuing to do strenuous workouts over a period of time can also effect the mental aspect of an athlete by literally wearing them down. It can lead to things like lack in concentration and attention control. Sports psychology is a branch of science that keeps the minds of an athlete to be well tuned which in essence can maximize a players potential.      There are 3 branches to sports psychology and are the following: cognitive and behavioral skills training for performance, counseling and clinical interventions, as well as consultation and training. these 3 branches help with different difficulties ...

Getting to know me

     My name is Jason Cottongame, my first name is also my father's although I am not a junior because I have a different middle name. My middle name is unique, I've only met one other person that has had this name. It's very interesting because like me he received his first name from his father who also happened to be Jason, and his middle came came from a Steve McQueen movie called "Junior Bonner".      The two pictures to the right of the screen are a pictures of my friends and me. The upper picture is during my first spring break in college at South Padre and the lower picture is from a music festival called Larry Joe Taylor. These pictures are big indications of me because i love the beach for vacationing as well as going to the biggest music festival for Texas Country, my favorite type of music.      I have one sibling (an older sister), who is a math teacher at Mineral Wells, and my mom and dad. my mother is a secretary for my dads ...
